Someone died on Colfax today
I noticed a lot more traffic on the bike path today coming home, which usually means a closure of Colfax. But this time, there were helicopters circling the area, which made me think there was a little more to it. When I went to investigate, I found a block worth of police tape by the Squire Lounge, a crowd of onlookers and a dead body in the middle of the avenue (covered with a sheet) next to a gray car.
Update: Local news has finally caught up, and it sounds like it was a jaywalker (according to witnesses) which would not be out of the ordinary for that stretch of Colfax. I’ve worried about hitting some of the more aggressive of the bunch myself.

In the second video, a bystander started to comment about the lack of media attention about the scene.
“There’s probably a rollover or something on I-70 that’s more important that someone dying on the Hill,” he said [I'm paraphrasing] at one point (I don’t know if it made it on film). Then I got home and, sure enough, all the local news stations (except 7 News, who had a brief bit on how it would affect traffic) didn’t have a single thing. Most of the helicopters were near C-470 around some congestion.

Preach on, brother.

Where did I read that the lady was hammered and asked to leave the Squire at about 5:00, then promptly wandered into traffic? What the shit.
